Darkness at one time surrounded me. But off in the distance could be seen a flicker of light. golden in color and warm. As I neared closer it got brighter and could see it wasn't just a candle but a diamond dancing in the candle light. A diamond with many facets and angles. I could not know how precious this diamond was. very quickly i got lost in it's glimmer. He was like a mirror and i could see myself in all his facets. He made me look inside myself and see that there was a soul still worth setting free At first I was frightened at what he revealed and was able to reach even though it was always there inside me hidden deep. I learned that this diamond owned a strong soul but his candle would some day fade away. This hurt me deeply. To find such a precious gift only to have it taken away some day. Then a voice in my heart said. "true, the candle will fade, but place this diamond in your heart and he shall remain there longer than forever. And the memory of his sparkle will remind you to smile cause he's never left you he just found a new home with your family in your heart". It was comforting to hear this but my heart did shed a million tears and my soul ached at the thought of the candle losing it's warm glow. But I wiped the tears away and took him by the hand and danced with the diamond by candle light. When the candle fades I shall have enjoyed the dance.
